Adja’s is named after its owner Coumba Adja and her daughter Maia Adja. Coumba was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal and the majority of her products are produced and shipped straight from the motherland.

Adja’s originated from a personal struggle Coumba experienced with skin problems while attending university in the States. After trying several different products that were prescribed to her by a dermatologist, Coumba recognized that she was missing something from back home.

“Once I began exclusively using all natural soaps and shea butter from back home, all my skin issues disappeared, and I had the realization that other people could benefit from this too.” - Coumba Adja

This was her aha! moment and Coumba began communicating and organizing with her family in Senegal to help make these products available for others. This is where Adja’s was born along with her background in Fashion Merchandising from Western Kentucky University, she set forth a plan to form a holistic and cultural boutique that was unique to her and where she came from.
